Buildings shape our world—and our climate.
We spend almost 90% of our lives in buildings, yet the sector is responsible for nearly 25% of global greenhouse gas emissions. Despite this, less than 4% of climate philanthropy focuses on advancing sustainable buildings.
To address this challenge, I collaborated with Active Philanthropy to develop “Horizons for Funding Climate-Friendly Buildings”—a scrollytelling website that explains why buildings matter for climate philanthropy and showcases interactive pathways for action.
I had the opportunity to bring this research to life by developing the website based on a design by Alice Landsiedel. Using React, Framer Motion, and D3.js, I created an immersive, responsive experience where users can understand the challenge in detail, explore a dynamic 3-horizon model, dive into practical solutions, and discover real-world case studies.
